Our Mission: Empowering Unemployed Youth through Accredited Training

Alika Investments is a leading accredited institution specializing in Lifting Machinery, Safety, and Supply Chain Management training. We are strategically located at 71 Woburn Avenue, Benoni, Gauteng, making us accessible to the communities that need our services the most.

  • Contact Information:

As an accredited institution, we proudly hold certifications from the Transport Education Training Authority (TETA 16-683) and the South African Labour Department (No. 688). We are also in the process of obtaining accreditation from QCTO, further solidifying our credibility and ability to provide top-tier training programs.

Our Mission: Empowering Unemployed Youth through Accredited Training

At Alika Investments, we are driven by a deep commitment to uplifting the local communities in Benoni, Daveyton, Wattville, Kingsway, and surrounding informal settlements. In these areas, unemployment rates among youth are particularly high, and the need for skills development is urgent.

To combat this, we're providing internal bursaries to unemployed youth for forklift driver training, helping them gain valuable skills and access employment opportunities in the logistics sector.

Proven Success in Supply Chain Management Learnerships

Recognizing the growing need for professional skills in the logistics and supply chain sectors, Alika Investments expanded its offerings to include the Supply Chain Management National Certificate learnership program.

TETA Sponsorship and Labour Department Involvement

We are proud to report that both of our previous Supply Chain Management learnership programs were fully sponsored by the Transport Education Training Authority (TETA). These sponsorships have allowed us to cover the costs of training, stipends, and resources for learners, ensuring that participants can focus on their studies and practical training without financial barriers.

Furthermore, the Labour Department in Benoni has been a crucial partner in our recruitment process. They facilitate the recruitment and interview process for applicants, ensuring that we identify the most deserving and qualified candidates. The collaboration with the Labour Department ensures that each intake of students is carefully selected, with a focus on empowering youth who demonstrate the potential for success but lack the resources to pursue formal education.

Past Achievements

In 2017/2018, we secured funding from TETA for 17 learners to complete their Supply Chain Management National Certificate. Due to the success of this program, we were granted additional funding in subsequent years to train 25 learners. Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, 19 learners successfully graduated from this program—a remarkable achievement given the circumstances.

These graduates have since gone on to secure employment in logistics and supply chain roles or have continued their studies to further enhance their qualifications. This success showcases not only the efficacy of our program but also the determination of our management and students in navigating unprecedented challenges.

Expanding the Supply Chain Learnership Program

Given the success of our previous programs and the ongoing demand from unemployed youth, we are eager to expand our Supply Chain Management National Certificate learnership. From January to December next year, we aim to train 100 students, providing them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the logistics industry.

The program will consist of:

  • 30% classroom-based theory
  • 70% workplace practical training
  • Duration: 12 months

Cost Breakdown per Student:

  • Tuition and stationery: R6,500 per month
  • Student stipend: R3,000 per month
  • Total per student: R9,500 per month
  • Total cost for 100 students: R9,500,000 for the entire year
