History was made by South African Springbok captain Siya Kolisi, becoming the second ever captain to lift the Webb Ellis Cup for the second time.

President Thabo Mbeki also witnessed South africa win the Rugby World Cup during his reign.

This leaves President Khalema Montahle and President Jacob Zuma, the only South African presidents who never saw the Springboks win the Rugby World Cup as seating presidents.
